We utilize a 3-step process for applying stucco.
Firstly, we apply a waterproofing material according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure our warranty, then overlay with the installation of the metal lath. We create an overlap at the edges of the lath by at least 1 inch and leave a small gap between sheets for expansion and contraction of the stucco for our Colorado Springs temperature changes.
Next over the metal lath, we apply the scratch coat that seeps into the lath, creating a solid “grip”. This coat is literally scratched on purpose to create proper adhesion for the second brown coat. This brown coat of the stucco process needs curing time and will require us to visit to wet the stucco as part of the curing process.
Lastly, we will apply the beautiful finish coat in this stucco process which includes the color of your choice.
